(Taco) Beef Filling

When you feel like having tacos and you don’t want to go through the hassle of making too many fillings for taco, you make it into a pizza or Tacozza like I did.

It has most of the fillings that goes into a taco like beef mince, sour cream, avocado, tomatoes, taco (crushed) and cheese.

I am planning to use the leftover beef mince to make empanadas or beef puffs as they would be known locally. That will be for another day.

(Taco) Beef Filling

  • Servings: Topping for 1 12-14 inch pizza
  • Print

Ingredients: Tacozza

300g minced beef

1 onion, finely diced

1 garlic clove, minced

1 teaspoon cumin powder

1 teaspoon paprika powder

1/2 cup tomato sauce

1 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

Method:

  • Fry the onion & garlic in oil till the onion turns translucent.
  • Add the beef and fry till the meat is browned.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients, stirring till it is combined.
  • Simmer for about 10-15 minutes or until the liquids are mostly absorbed.
