Roasted Walnuts with Honey & Sesame Seeds

Use of fresh or Walnuts that have gone slightly off, Sesame Seeds, Honey or Agave Nectar to create a handy and easy snack to have on hand for those times or days when you need something to snack on.

I have made this not too syrupy and just enough to coat all the walnuts instead of leaving a residue of gooey sweet syrup pooling at the bottom.

Roasted Walnuts with Honey & Sesame Seeds

Ingredients:Roasted Walnuts with Honey & Sesame Seed

3 cups shelled walnut halves

2 tablespoon roasted or raw white sesame seeds

1 tablespoon agave nectar or honey

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

Method:

  • Preheat oven or airfryer to 180ºC (375ºF).
  • Lay walnut halves & raw sesame seeds on a baking tray.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes, checking & tossing at 3-5 minute intervals to prevent them from burning.
  • If using airfryer, place portions of walnut halves & raw sesame seeds in a airfryer proof sheet, tossing every few minutes, until all dry ingredients are roasted.
  • Melt the butter in a microwave, 30 seconds or more.
  • Mix the agave nectar or honey if using into the butter.
  • Place walnut halves & sesame seeds in a mixing bowl.
  • Pour the butter/agave liquid into the mixing bowl and mix it all together.
  • Try to coat all the pieces of walnut halves with the liquid mixture. Keep tossing with a spoon till completely coated.
  • Allow to cool before packing into an airtight container.
